Butterflies in the Garden: a meaningful community memorial event in Colorado Springs

Pikes Peak Hospice invites families and friends to honor loved ones with music, poetry, remembrance, and the release of hundreds of live butterflies on July 25

Each summer, Pikes Peak Hospice brings the community together for one of its most cherished traditions: Butterflies in the Garden. This inspiring memorial event offers families and individuals an opportunity to honor loved ones who have passed while finding comfort, connection, and hope alongside others who share the experience of loss.

Scheduled for Saturday, July 25, at Hillside Gardens & Event Center in Colorado Springs, Butterflies in the Garden welcomes community members of all ages for a morning of reflection and remembrance in a beautiful outdoor setting.

The event features live music, poetry, the reading of names of loved ones being honored, and the release of hundreds of live Painted Lady butterflies. For many attendees, the butterfly release serves as a powerful symbol of transformation, remembrance, and the enduring impact loved ones leave on our lives.

Grief is a journey that looks different for everyone. Events like Butterflies in the Garden create space for people to gather, remember, and celebrate the lives of those they love.

The annual event is free and open to the public, making it accessible to anyone in the Colorado Springs area who wishes to honor a family member, friend, neighbor, or colleague. Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, Butterflies in the Garden offers a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and remember.
