Hope  and the Holidays

Birthdays, anniversaries and especially the upcoming holiday season can be difficult for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one.  Hope and the Holidays provides information and support for individuals who have experienced a loss during this holiday season.  This presentation, designed for adults, will include a general discussion of the grief process, practical suggestions for coping, and creative ways to utilize rituals and remembrances.

How the Grief Stole Christmas
A Workshop for Families Experiencing Loss

If your family has recently experienced the loss of a loved one, the approaching holidays may be a difficult time.  How do we celebrate when we feel so sad?  How do we continue our family traditions without this person? These concerns can create stress and add to the burden of your grief.

This workshop for families with young children will explore these issues and provide strategies for managing grief and the holidays.  Families meet together to begin, then children and adults attend separate breakout sessions, then all come together to wrap up.  Groups are facilitated by PPHPC Grief Counselors and Volunteers.  Dinner will be provided.

Thursday, November 29, 2018
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

There is no cost to attend either of these classes, but registration is required.  Please call the Center for Grief and Loss at 719-633-3400, x6535 or email and specify which class you’ll be attending.

Both events will be held at:

Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care
2550 Tenderfoot Hill Street
Colorado Springs, CO  80906
