Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, the only nonprofit hospice and palliative care provider in El Paso and Teller Counties, is hosting our Annual Trees of Life Tree Lighting Ceremony, this Saturday, November 16 at 5 p.m. on the south lawn of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.  The event is free and open to the public.  Names can be provided of loved ones to be read aloud in remembrance.

“This event is a beautiful way to cherish the memories of loved
ones we have lost as we enter the holiday season - one of the
most difficult times of year for people grieving,” said Joan
Selman, executive director of the Pikes Peak Hospice
Foundation. “It’s a powerful way to honor their lives with close
friends and family all coming together under stunning twinkling
lights,” said Selman.

Numerous trees will be illuminated with white lights to honor loved ones and one tree will feature red, white and blue lights, paying tribute to military and community protectors. Local musical talents and complimentary refreshments will also be provided.

Trees of Life ornaments and symbolic lights are available for purchase. Personalized ornaments are also available as special a way to remember a loved one. Sponsorships, as well as ornament and light purchases, support programs which help provide hospice and palliative care to other families in need.  Click here to order yours or call 719.457.8104.  Lights and ornaments will be available for purchase throughout the holiday season.

“As the community’s leading hospice and palliative care provider for nearly 40 years, we truly cannot express our gratitude to those who have helped make what we do possible through their support and generous donations,” said Selman. “We are honored to be able to continue to help more individuals and families in El Paso and Teller Counties as we renew our commitment and promise of care to those who need it most.”

What Our Families Say

What you all do is amazing.  Thank you for all your help, support and guidance for my mother and family.  It was such a gift and a blessing to be with my mom and take care of her and to have her at home with my daughter and I.  We will never forget your kindness.  Thank you! ~ Patient's family

The services my husband and I received during his last stages of life were invaluable to us.  His primary wish at the end was to be at home.  I was very afraid that I couldn't grant that wish, but with the help of Pikes Peak Hospice he was able to be at home, where he was comfortable, until the very end.  I am also truly thankful for the grief counseling that you provided to me. ~ Patient's wife

Thank you for all your assistance during this time and for the care of my mother.  There are not enough compliments to give for the support, knowledge, bedside manner, courtesy and kindness. ~ Patient's daughter
