Extraordinary Nursing Care
Our dedicated Inpatient Unit (IPU) nursing staff includes highly trained Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, including many with hospice certifications. Their expertise in the area of hospice and palliative medicine is invaluable when addressing the acute needs of our hospice patients.
Our IPU nursing staff routinely cares for patients with complex needs, including tracheostomies, complex wound care, home vents, and urinary and GI diversion devices. They also assist with blood transfusions, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and other special procedures. Our nursing staff continually assess patients' symptom and pain management to assure our standards of excellence in care.
Training
Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care encourages attendance at Continuing Education classes (local, state and national) on topics related to hospice and palliative care.
