My loved one is special because he was completely devoted to me, his wife for 65 years, children, grandchildren, and pets; and very modest about his accomplishments. At the request of his children, when he was 84, he wrote his autobiography, in English (he studied and became fluent in Portuguese in his forties). Writing by hand took considerable effort because he lost his sight and hadn’t grown up with the technology of today. His finished book was too brief, as was his almost 91 years on earth. He was patient with family and business associates and available to pass on his lessons and knowledge. He was a great storyteller; the characters were genuine action heroes and larger than life, and the plots were interesting and exciting. His book is a great read – and on our best seller list. We cherish the keepsake.
