She was a compassionate and caring person for her family, friends, and relatives. Norma Jean was an avid hiker who enjoyed the Colorado mountains and hiked with a close-knit group called “Friends on Foot.” Her motto was health, happiness, and hiking (H3). She greatly enjoyed the scenery and vistas from her sunroom, especially Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. Norma was also an avid reader, belonging to several book clubs. She also enjoyed playing bridge, solitaire, and many card games. Norma was born in Montana during the Depression, and later the family moved to Minnesota where she lived on a dairy farm. She also met husband, Ted, in Montana, and they both enjoyed 54 years together. Norma loved gardening and planted many flowers in her yard. She also loved to travel, visiting all 50 states, Europe, and Asia. Norma received an education from Pikes Peak Community College and UCCS and later worked at Colorado College and Fountain Valley School as Director of Alumni Affairs and Annual Giving. Norma was a beautiful person who enjoyed her grand and step-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her husband Ted.
