Date Honored: July 2011
The world was a better place with my mother in it and now heaven is.
~ Her son, Damon Zinn
My sister and I grew up on our family farm in Iowa. Our dad did not have any sons, so my sister and I helped with the field work, bailing hay, and of course, daily chores. My sister and I never learned to milk cows, which our mother said was a good thing.
Now this past August 2011, I received the “Century Farm” award form the Iowa Farm Bureau for our family. My sister would have been so proud, as I am. Both our parents are also gone, so I dearly miss sharing this award with my sister. I really miss telling her, “We did it!” and our sisterly talks.
