Ed served in the Navy in the Atlantic and Pacific during World War II. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1956 and raised his family here. He left his mark in Colorado Springs as a lathing and plastering contractor doing construction at Penrose Hospital, the Air Force Academy, NORAD, Colorado College, and the El Paso County Courthouse. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Ed's favorite season was Christmas as he gathered with his family. The scripture he adopted as a testimony was, "This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles."
