Dorothy E. Erickson was many things to many people. To me she was not only a Grandmother; she was a mentor, a second mom, and even a best friend. We had so many memories ranging from shopping trips, and to trips to the Outback Steakhouse sharing a Chocolate Thunder from Down Under. Grandma was very meticulous about everything, from winter, spring, summer, and fall cleaning, to dressing fashionably, nails done, etc. She thrived to have a close family, as well as a successful life and she achieved every goal that she aimed for. Her life was filled with memories that today each of us close to her will carry with us forever. All I know is that the song “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler (played at her Memorial Service) was definitely her song as she was an inspiration in my life. Her memory, as well as her bright cherry spirit, will be with her family and me forever.
