His number one concern was for his family. I remember years after his retirement, after his working thirty-seven years in the education field, how he loved past times of playing solitaire, working crossword puzzles, and typing on his old Royal typewriter in order to keep all his books in order. I remember his love for his favorite college football team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and his love of gardening and lawn work. He also loved the music of the 40s and 50s, traveling, bowling, and fishing with his three sons and grandchildren.
