Date Honored: September 2009
Terrence was born and raised in Fairland, Oklahoma. In 1953, he married his loving wife, Marie, and they were married for 56 years. Throughout his 31 year military career, while Marie raised the children, Terrence served brief periods as a US Army radio operator and a US Air Force navigator. Official duties took him to 37 foreign countries in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He served lengthy periods in Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Marie and their children joined him in Teheran, Iran, and the Panama Canal Zone. Terrence held staff positions from squadron level to Air Force headquarters and accumulated 8,000 flying hours in 12 types of aircraft, including 850 combat flying hours in Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the Legion of Merit upon retirement with the rank of Colonel in 1979. Although Terrence has a distinguished military career, he is missed more for being the devoted husband and father every family could wish to have.
