I wish I had kept better track of all the memories, the stories, the accolades that have come my way over the past nearly 26 years. Stories like a dear friend crying and saying when we had a thunder storm shortly after Margie had departed this life, “that’s Margie up there, rearranging the furniture in heaven.” Margie was a very talented, giving, leading educator, especially of young children. The House for Special Needs children in District 11 still bears her name (as far as I know) because she was a leader in early childhood development which has become so important in our system today. The old television show says it all for me today, oh yes… “I remember Margie!”
