Jim was my best friend, my sweetheart, my helper, my loving husband for almost sixty years. (He even did the grocery shopping.) A devoted father to his two daughters and four sons, he was a faithful spectator at their many activities. He’d even drive to Texas or California to see a son play baseball. He and the boys like to work together on their remodeling projects; he called himself the “go-for.”
Jim volunteered for many years with Silver Key, delivering Meals-on-Wheels. As Neighborhood Watch Captain, neighbors trusted him with their keys to keep an eye on their homes. Among his favorite things were reading, the Home Depot, fresh cut grass, sparkling windows, chocolate covered doughnuts, and bacon, eggs and fried potatoes after early morning Sunday Mass.
Jim was known for his great wit. One of his friends wrote, “Now heaven is the recipient of his wonderful sense of humor.”
