How can we describe Mom in 150 words? She was incredible. Her gentle spirit showed through every endeavor and relationship as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, sister, coworker, and neighbor. Fiercely independent she hated the fact that she was “imposing” on her family and friends when it became necessary (our opinion – NOT hers), that she no longer live alone. She told us so many times, “I can stay by myself.” I don't think she really believed us when we told her it was an honor to live in her presence and listen to her stories of coming to Colorado in a covered wagon, taking care of her chores on the farm, her years of growing up, and early marriage. But it was an honor. Our biggest regret is that she's no longer here for us to care for. She is, however, with us every day in our hearts, and we miss her so much.
