“I have always believed that God never gives a cross to bear larger than we can carry. No matter what, He wants us to be happy, not sad. Birds sing after a storm, why shouldn’t we?” – Rose Kennedy
Our daughter, Barbara Holt, passed away in 1999. She was our oldest and was very brave and courageous throughout the 15 years she lived as a cancer patient. She had a terrific sense of humor and was so beautiful, dying much too young.
My husband, Joe Scaturo, passed away in 2006. He was a kind and gentle man and lived every minute of his 95 years. Shortly after he passed, I began noticing a dove and bluebird regularly visiting the bird bath I can see from my kitchen window. They seemed to appear when I needed them the most or after a particularly bad day. They visited me throughout last winter and continue to come regularly. I feel as if Barbara and Joe are checking on me and making sure I am ok. These birds give me much comfort and peace and I know Barbara and Joe are together and still close to me. I miss them both.
