Partnership Enhances Care for Veterans

How do you give back to those who have given so much? In whatever small ways you can. By honoring their sacrifices. Saying thank you. Caring for them and their families in times of need.

As a member of the Colorado Hospice-Veteran Partnership, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care helps connect veterans and their families with hospice and palliative care services when they need them.

• We honor our veterans by paying close attention to their unique needs.
• We ask every new patient questions to identify veterans in our care.
          • We want to know when and how they served.
          • Do they have access to VA medical benefits?

This information allows the patient’s care team to create a plan of care based on the veteran’s individual experiences and needs, and to take full advantage of all available benefits.

PPHPC Says “Thank You” to Veterans

In addition, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care created another way to say thank you for serving to the distinguished veterans receiving our care.  An heirloom-quality coin and personalized certificate of appreciation are formally presented to each veteran patient receiving care through PPHPC.

Both the coin and the certificate are expressions of our gratitude to our
veterans for their commitment to the ideals of our nation and their service to our country.

"A number of our staff have served in the Armed Forces.  When we learned there was a concerted effort afoot to extend hospice services to veterans and their families, we all jumped on board."
